Luis Briceño was born in Caracas, Venezuela; the first of fifteen children. He moved to the United States at the age of twenty seven to explore the rugged terrain of the Pacific Northwest. There he worked numerous jobs including construction, roofing, waiter, warehousing, truck driving and various other customer service work. After spending some time working as a driver for the elderly and people with disabilities, he became a transit operator for Seattle’s King County Metro. Though it was a good job, spending 8-10 hours a day driving soon became physically and emotionally taxing on Luis. Thankfully his strong belief in Rastafari allowed him to remain positive during the 8 years he worked for King County Metro. Through yoga and massage therapy he found further relief from the pain and stress he experienced in daily grind of his job.
One day, a beautiful yoga teacher boarded his bus and Luis' life changed forever. Inspired, he quit his job of 9 years and moved with her to Sayulita, Mexico to further his yoga practice, surf and enjoy life to the fullest. Luis returned to Seattle in September, 2014 to complete his Yoga Training Certificate at the Center for Yoga of Seattle under Richard Schachtel, Iyengar Certified.
Luis's philosophy of how to live a healthy life encourages him to remain active throughout the day while using yoga and massage practices to support his body, achieve optimal performance, free his body from stress and tensions and, ultimately, bringing true happiness into his life.
Speaking of true happiness, Luis is the father of an incredible 10 year girl and adorable 3 year old boy. He is certified in children's yoga and enjoys introducing students to yoga and eastern philosophy.
Photography is a strong part of Luis’s journey. It helps him capture his appreciation for life, from the smallest thing in nature, to his friends and different culture. He loves to place everything he loves and finds beautiful in a full frame portrait.
